Indian River Mobile Veterinary Services, Dr. Melloney Erwin, DVM

Canine Rehabilitation Therapist, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine,Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy, Food Therapy, In-Home Euthanasia and Cremation Services

We are delighted to be back to offering house calls again.  At this time we are limiting appointments to the outdoors only. We appreciate your understanding during these challenging times. We are truly saddened if we were not able to help your furry family member in their time of need.

Unfortunately we are no longer offering routine veterinary services including holistic consultations. Due to Dr. Erwin’s own health concerns she has had to simplify the practice so we are focusing on personalized in-home euthanasia and her additional training and certification in physical rehabilitation including acupuncture, spinal manipulation and cold laser therapy. Rehabilitation is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays in Peterborough and Lakefield only. We will travel anywhere within 1 hour of Indian River for euthanasias and do our best to be available 7 days a week (with some exceptions) for this vital service.

If due our limited schedule we do not feel we can help your 4-legged family in the time frame or manner they deserve; we will do our best to recommend someone who can. We only want the best care for your pet.

If you would like to contact us DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE ON THIS SITE as we will not receive it. Please call 705-749-4609 or e-mail

  • Quality of Life Assessment

If you are just not sure if it is your four-legged family member’s time or if there is something you can do to improve their quality of life for a while longer we can come do a quality of life assessment.

We will spend the time to talk to you about your pet’s life and current condition, do a in-depth history and physical examination. We will discuss any potential diagnostic testing or treatment options that could potentially help your pet live a better quality of life, and share our findings with the veterinarian of your choosing.

Any diagnostic and treatment options would be done through your veterinarian. Indian River Mobile Veterinary Services provides physical rehabilitation services if appropriate to the Peterborough area (please contact us to find out if you are in our service area). If it is determined that it is time to say good-bye to your special friend we can proceed at the same appointment or comeback when you are ready

QUALITY OF LIFE EVALUATION-see below as a guideline for determining your pet’s quality of life. For a more in-depth/on-going analysis download the Grey Muzzle App on your phone to track their condition daily.
